John founded CompMed Health Institute 20 years ago with a vision of providing the Gold Coast with the absolute best in evidence based acupuncture and complementary medicine. Today, John works as the Senior registered acupuncturist and director at CompMed and receives referrals from the Coasts leading specialists as a widely recognised and respected acupuncturist and natural health practitioner.  John has practised in Australia and abroad and is a graduate of the Japanese Toyohari painless acupuncture technique. He has a published Cochrane review on Acupuncture for the treatment of Fibromyalgia. John has lectured extensively on acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at University level and continues to present at Acupuncture conferences as a leader in his field. He practises medical Qigong and is dedicated to supporting and guiding his patients in their quest for health and longevity. John is currently interested in using Dr. Tung's Taiwanese family acupuncture methods for fewer needle treatments and more powerful results.

Our registered acupuncturist Nancy Lee (BHScAcu) treats babies and children to bring greater balance to the family. Nancy has a passion for helping babies, kids and teens achieve health through modern Japanese no needle acupuncture (Shonishin), Chinese dietetics, herbal and nutritional supplements and lifestyle advice. The Shonishin method is designed to reset your child's system and create a stress free environment so their body can heal itself. Today, Nancy educates mothers in the Shonishin method as part of her treatment approach because she believes you can play a strong part in healing your child at home. Nancy is a dedicated mother to three children and has extensive knowledge and experience in the Chinese medicine approach to newborn health, post-partum health, childhood development and teenage issues. Aside from working at CompMed, Nancy is currently furthering her studies with a Bachelor of Midwifery at SCU.
